EXCEPTIONAL DOOR PAINTED BY PALACE, MID-18TH CENTURY, TURIN

EXCEPTIONAL DOOR PAINTED BY PALACE, MID-18TH CENTURY, TURIN

Incredible door indoor to a door with a hundred frame, in blue night lacquered wood and sumptuously decorated in gouache zecchino gold, with reasons in Ramages, which, contrasting the dark background, give lightness and brightness to the whole.
The rococo taste door, coming from an aristocratic residence, consists of panels, defined with golden leaf frames in zecchino gold, concentric and shaped in the upper part and other rectilinear, in the lower one.
The frames are interspeded by spectacular golden carvings in relief, shaped of shells, flowers, leaves and at the top, centrally, there is a floral garland.
The set acquires greater prestige and completeness, given the presence of the chiseled and golden bronze handle with the presence of a female head and at the bottom of a grotesque, as well as all the sinuous decorations and movements, typical of the mid-18th century, who resume those of the door; All four golden gardens of origin complete.
The light, filtering in the central friezes in relief and convex, creates an additional chiaroscurial game, adding a refined touch to a true art of art of excellent quality and not easy availability.
The back part is in blue gray lacquer.
The door is in almost perfect condition, while the frame received some restorations to the lacquer, compatibly at the time and use.

very refined fireplace mirror

very refined fireplace mirror

We present this very refined fireplace mirror in poplar wood, gilded in pure gold and beautifully tripartite with several mercury mirrors.

Bucolic carvings, protruding from the outside, branch off from the base of the fireplace, with climbing shrubs with small flowers and leaves, upwards, giving it movement and lightness; at the base there are rocaille carvings and the same flowers.

The other innermost bands are also bordered by climbing shoots with bluebells and leaves.

The focus on which the eye falls is a delightful portrait drawn in pastel, depicting a noblewoman with clothes and a delicate appearance, like the color palette used for the small bunch of flowers on her hair.

Surely, the author is an artist from the circle of Rosalba Carriera, as can be seen from several details, one of which, the pearl necklace, is worn in an asymmetrical way and in any case, by the skill with which he made the jewels and the face introspectively, creating a diaphanous and impalpable but haughty portrait.

You exquisite the execution of the frame and the overall decorative project that centrally frames the portrait; it is made up of spiral and projecting mixtilinear leafy carvings, which continue with leaves, branches and flowers together with Rococo elements that lean on the mirror, creating with stylistic skill, a work of art rich in prestige and strength, but at the same time , of balanced elegance and levity.

In the upper part, on the sides of the cymatium, almost pagoda-like, there are tufts of small flowers and two curls; instead, in the two parts that fall on the mirrors, exquisite gilded and carved elements composed of scalloped festoons in a mixtilinear shape and moved in trompe l'oeil, are for our taste, the apotheosis of refinement that together with the mirrors, create full chiaroscuro depths of gracefulness, as if there was a breath of wind to move them.

Conditions: in patina and in excellent condition, compatibly with time and use.

A mercury mirror is a little later than the others, but it is still from the 18th century.
