This is a late Victorian (circa 1890) oak Wellington chest with twelve lockable file drawers, the right hand column hinges and the lock functions with one key.
It has a label with the name : August Finkenrath & Söhne, Barmen, this is a company that produced picture postcards, unclear if they manufactured this piece or perhaps had it produced to store there postcard collection in.
It has very unusual catches possibly patented by them, the condition is excellent and it has had some extra light restoration.
